Collaborative Children’s Solutions is continuing its partnership with the city of Jamestown and the Downtown Jamestown Local Development Corporation in 2023.
In addition to the initiatives of expanding the Harrison’s Playmakers organization in Chautauqua County and the collaborative project with the Chautauqua Safety Village, the Southern Chautauqua Federal Credit Union and all the community partners involved with the Taste of Independence Program CCS will also host five community events within the city in 2023.
“From what started as CCS pitching in on the 2020 Christmas Parade has developed into us leading the charge in collaborative projects with hundreds of children’s groups, organizations, agencies and businesses in offering the community family friendly events that are designed to build a sense of community in hopes that this collaboration leads to all adults working together for what’s best for our children,” said Patrick Smeraldo. “Without the trust and assistance of Mayor Sundquist, City Council and each and every city department head and employee, along with funding streams from the Downtown Jamestown Development Committee and County Executive Wendell and the Chautauqua County Industrial Development Agency and the Chautauqua County Partnership on Economic Growth, none of these events would be possible.”
On Saturday, March 18, Collaborative Children’s Solutions will collaborate with the city in expanding the annual St Patrick’s Day turning the river green in Jamestown. Also on Saturday, March 18, CCS will collaborate with the Xplosion Cheer group and host the Beyond the Frozen Rink Regional Cheer and Dance Competition at Northwest Arena in downton Jamestown.
The cheer event will build on Jamestown as a destination for multiple regional children’s entertainment and sporting events. In doing so, the hope is that the economic growth continues and Chautauqua County becomes a family friendly travel destination for years to come.
The weekend of July 20, Collaborative Children’s Solutions will once again be forming partnerships with community organizations and agencies to lead Christmas in July celebrations in Jamestown.
On Aug. 19 and 20, the world-famous Gus Macker Basketball Tournament will make its return to Jamestown for an action packed two-day event.
Lastly, Collaborative Children’s Solutions will look to collaborate with over 100 children’s groups, organizations, agencies and businesses on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2023, in leading the Jamestown Holiday Parade.
